As of the end of the 2023-2024 academic year, the Department of International Relations at Hitit University is producing its first graduates. Within this scope, our department's students, faculty members, and research assistants attended the graduation ceremony of the Faculty of Economics and Administrative Sciences. As part of the ceremony, our student Alaa Rassem, who ranked first in the department, faculty, and university, delivered a speech on behalf of all students. In her speech, Rassem stated that she chose the field of International Relations to understand the functioning of the world and the oppressions currently occurring in regions such as her homeland Yemen, East Turkestan, and Gaza, expressing that she will continue her learning journey. She concluded her speech by expressing her gratitude to Turkey, which she defined as her "Second Home," to Hitit University, and to the professors of our department. In addition, our student Lamin Ceesay brought justified pride to our department, which produced its first graduates, by achieving third place in the faculty. Our other students, Haydar Furkan Oruç and Temurbek Jalilov, completed the department in third place.
At the award ceremony held on May 31, 2024, for high-ranking students—attended by the Governor of Çorum, the Mayor, the Provincial Gendarmerie Commander, the Provincial Police Chief, and the Rector of Hitit University—our student Alaa Rassem received the university first-place award from the Governor of Çorum, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Zülkif Dağlı, and delivered another speech. Similarly, our student Lamin Ceesay was deemed worthy of an award for his success at the faculty level.
